Company Description

BlueGnome is elfish about statistics. The company develops statistical processing software for use by pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research, and academic organizations. The company's software uses mathematical models and statistical methods to reduce data bottlenecks when processing measurements from high-throughput experiments. BlueGnome also offers the CytoChip DNA microarray (used in clinical diagnoses of genetic abnormalities such as Down syndrome) and 24sure (a microarray for counting the number of chromosomes in a single human cell). BlueGnome was founded in 2002 as a Cambridge University spinout; investors include the University of Cambridge Challenge Fund and The Wellcome Trust.
