Company Description

BlueArc is redefining the network storage performance curve. The company provides high-end and mid-range data storage systems used in network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) configurations. Companies involved in drug discovery, oil and gas exploration, legal electronic discovery, high-performance computing, media and entertainment, Internet services, and other data-intensive industries use its scalable Titan servers. BlueArc's servers, which are manufactured by Sanmina-SCI, utilize programmable chips designed by Altera. Customers in North America account for nearly three-quarters of the company's sales. In 2011 BlueArc filed for an IPO and was then acquired by Hitachi Data Systems (HDS).
