Biotel manufactures and distributes medical devices and patient monitoring systems along with the custom-built software needed to operate such medical equipment. Subsidiary Braemar is a leading maker of portable heart monitoring devices such as Holter recorders and also makes liposuction and ultrasound components. Most of the company's products are made for and marketed through other medical device makers. Biotel also provides data management services for clinical trials through its Agility Centralized Research unit. Biotel was acquired by cardiac monitor maker CardioNet in 2010.
