From steel bars to palm oil and residential property developments to security services, Amsteel roars as an investment holding company for Malaysia's diversified Lion Group. After restructuring and selling off several noncore operations, Amsteel's operations now include real estate, agriculture, security services, and the sale of steel products. Lion Corporation retained 46% of the restructured Amsteel. Director Tan Sri William Cheng controls Amsteel through his majority stake (nearly 60%) in Lion Corporation. The debt-laden Amsteel is once again undergoing restructuring. The proposed deal will give Lion Corporation and Cheng complete control over Amsteel.
