American Southern, a member of the Atlantic American group of companies, provides commercial automobile coverage, as well as general liability and surety bond coverage, for businesses and government entities in the Southeast and Midwest. Licensed in more than 30 states, the company specializes in writing custom policies for the large motor pools and truck fleets of state governments, municipalities, and corporations. Its policies -- usually multi-year contracts -- cover auto liability and long-haul physical damage. It markets its products directly to government agencies and through a select number of specialized, independent agents.
