Odyssey HealthCare helps provide comfort for patients in the final stages of life's journey. One of the nation's largest hospice care providers, the company operates more than 100 for-profit hospice programs in some 30 states. Odyssey HealthCare offers a full range of hospice care services, including pain and symptom management, medical social services, personal care, spiritual support and counseling, and daily living assistance. It serves patients in their homes, and in hospitals and nursing facilities; it also operates more than a dozen of its own inpatient hospice facilities. In early 2008 the company acquired fellow hospice provider VistaCare.
