Overview
Océ makes a wide range of imaging equipment. Its products include copiers, printers, imaging systems, and related supplies for the office, printing, and engineering markets. Among the company's offerings are a series of low- to high-volume copiers, wide-format systems for commercial printers, and copiers and plotters designed specifically for engineering applications. It also provides consulting, document management, support, and training services. Océ primarily utilizes a direct sales force, though it does sell a small percentage of its products through distributors and OEMs. In 2009 rival Canon agreed to acquire the company for about €730 million (almost $1.1 billion) in cash.
