It promotes various languages and protocols, including CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture), CORBA/IIOP, the UML (Unified Modeling Language), CWM (Common Warehouse Metamodel), and MOF (Meta-Object Facility). The group is an open membership one, any company can join. It works specifically with healthcare, manufacturing, and telecommunications companies. OMG produces about 15 technical meetings, conferences, and workshops per year.
