Nokia Siemens Networks
Overview
Nokia Siemens Networks wants to prove that titans don't have to clash. The 50-50 joint venture combines the telecom carrier operations of diversified manufacturer Siemens with the network business of communications giant Nokia. With a product portfolio spanning both wireless and wireline network equipment, the company encompasses six business units: broadband access, IP transport, operation and business software, radio access, converged core, and services. Nokia Siemens Networks commenced operations in 2007. Early in 2008 the joint venture acquired subscriber data software provider Apertio for $205 million.
