Who wants part of China's $72-billion-education market? New Oriental Education and Technology Group, that's who. As China's largest provider of private education services (based on number of programs and enrollment), New Oriental offers a K-12 private boarding school, child and adult English classes, and Chinese and foreign university exam prep at more than 40 schools and 200 learning centers, mostly in eastern China. The company also distributes language and test prep books, software, CDs, and magazines, and works with Pearson Education, McGraw-Hill, and other publishers to re-purpose materials for Chinese use. It operates more than 20 bookstores and sells products in another 5,000 third-party bookstores.
