New Jersey Nets Company Description
This might be the most appropriately named team in professional sports. Nets Sports & Entertainment owns and operates the New Jersey Nets basketball team, a storied franchise of the National Basketball Association. That story has not always been so good, however; the team has yet to claim an NBA title and struggles with attendance at The IZOD Center (formerly Continental Airlines Arena). Organized by Arthur Brown in 1967 as the New Jersey Americans of the American Basketball Association, the team won two ABA titles as the New York Nets with the help of Julius "Dr. J" Erving. It returned to the Garden State and joined the NBA in 1976. New York real estate developer Bruce Ratner has owned the team since 2004.
