New City Company Description
New City Communications publishes Newcity, an alternative weekly magazine that focuses on the arts, culture, and leisure scene in Chicago. The tabloid, aimed mostly at young and affluent readers, also carries features and news. Newcity is distributed from more than a thousand locations in Chicago and the surrounding area. In addition to its print publication, New City distributes news, reviews, and event listings online. Brian Hieggelke and his wife Jan started the weekly paper in 1986.
