Nanmac thermocouples and related products have measured the heat-shield temperatures of spacecraft (5,300 degrees F), furnace temperatures to 4,200 degrees F, and the surface temperatures of disk brakes on automobiles and locomotives. Nanmac was established in 1956 by Jacob Nanigian. The company is owned by its top officers and about a dozen outside investors. Nanmac has facilities in China and the US.
