Overview
MYR Group's work can be electrifying. The specialty contractor builds and maintains electric delivery infrastructure systems for utilities and commercial clients. MYR Group constructs transmission and distribution lines for the oil and gas, power, and telecommunications industries; it also installs and maintains electrical wiring in commercial and industrial facilities and traffic and rail systems. The group operates around the US through subsidiaries including The L.E. Myers Co., Harlan Electric, Hawkeye Construction, Sturgeon Electric, MYR Transmission Services, and Great Southwestern Construction. MYR Group was founded in 1891 by Lewis Edward Myers, who briefly worked as a salesman with Thomas Edison.
