MPAA Company Description

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is rated "E" for entertainment. The trade association represents the interests of major US film, TV, and home-entertainment companies in the nation's capitol of Washington, DC. It is best known as the entity that provides the G, PG, PG13, R, and NC-17 motion-picture ratings. It also leads the fight against piracy and copyright violations and provides TV-show ratings. MPAA's board of directors includes the studio heads of the six major movie companies, including Walt Disney Studios, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Fox Filmed Entertainment, Universal Studios, and Warner Bros. Jack Valenti led the organization for 38 years before resigning in 2004.
