Mosaic Fashions Company Description
Mosaic Fashions is pieced together from many colorful, smaller parts. With more than 1,850 shops in nearly 35 countries, the Icelandic fashion company operates eight global brands, including Oasis, with 430 shops; Principles, with some 350 stores; Warehouse, with nearly 325 shops; and Karen Millen, about 160 chic shops. The boutiques sell women's apparel and accessories, including cosmetics and eyewear. In 2004 The Oasis Group acquired Karen Millen and the Whistles chain for about £120 million. In 2006 Mosaic acquired UK fashion group Rubicon Retail, adding footwear and accessories to the mix. Mosaic's largest shareholder, Iceland's Baugur Group, took the company public in mid-2005.
