Overview

Lots of little pieces have joined together to form The Mosaic Company's big picture. The company ranks as one of the world's largest makers of phosphate and potash crop nutrients. Mosaic's potash operations position the company at the top of the industry, along with Uralkali and PotashCorp. Mosaic ranks as the second-largest potash fertilizer company in North America (behind PotashCorp). Mosaic's potash mines are located in Canada and the US. The company does about two-thirds of its business outside the US; India and Brazil are its biggest international markets. Cargill, which previously owned almost two-thirds of Mosaic, divested its shares in the company in 2011.
