The Native American-themed Mohegan Sun Casino has more than 6,000 slot machines, some 300 tables, and simulcast horse race wagering. The facility also includes a 1,200-room luxury hotel, a 10,000-seat arena, a 350-seat cabaret, and dozens of stores and restaurants. The company also owns a horse racetrack, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, in Pennsylvania. Gambling revenues go to the Mohegan Tribe, and are used for cultural and educational programs. The tribe has lived as a community for hundreds of years in what is today southeastern Connecticut, and has about 1,700 members.
