Over the last century, Miele & Cie. has made quite a name for itself in the world of appliances. The company has operations in approximately 40 countries and offers a line of consumer appliances including vacuum cleaners; laundry systems and irons; dishwashers; ovens; cooking ranges and ventilation hoods; and coffee systems. In 2008 its domestic appliance division introduced refrigeration and wine storage units. Miele Professional also offers commercial cleaning equipment such as laboratory glassware washers, industrial parts cleaning systems, dental disinfectors, and commercial wet cleaning systems. Run by the Miele family (now in its fourth generation), the company was founded in 1899.
