Micromet Company Description

Micromet is hoping that a new name and a second language will give it a fresh start in its war against diseases. The drug development firm is the result of the 2006 merger of CancerVax and Germany's Micromet AG. It has three product candidates in clinical trials: MT103 is being studied in collaboration with MedImmune for the treatment of leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; MT201 is being evaluated with Merck Serono for the treatment of breast cancer; and MT293, licensed to TRACON Pharmaceuticals, is being developed also as a cancer treatment. These candidates and others in the company's preclinical pipeline use Micromet's BiTE technology, which harnesses the body's own T cells to attack disease.
