The brokerage firm, one of the largest in the US, handles futures, options, foreign exchange products, and equity derivatives for some 130,000 accounts. It serves individual and institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds, professional traders and others. It also acts as an intermediary in metals and energy markets. MF Global operates on some 70 exchanges including LIFFE and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The company has a dozen offices in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Hedge fund manager Man Group spun off MF Global in 2007.
