Meiji Dairies Company Description

Meiji Dairies is very pro-biotic. As a leading Japanese dairy products company, it makes infant formulas, yogurt, ice cream, cheese, butter, and dairy-based drinks, but about 60% of its of sales come from its home-delivery milk service. The company also makes cheese-heavy frozen foods such as pizza, and its VAAM sports and fitness drink which contains endurance-enhancing amino acids found in hornet saliva. Meiji Dairies introduced Bulgarian-style yogurt to Japan and continues to develop probiotic dairy products. In 2009 the company merged with Japanese confectionery maker, Meiji Seika Kaisha, to form Meiji Holdings.
