Mashantucket Pequot Company Description
Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (with roughly 700 members) has propelled itself from the depths of intense poverty to its lofty position as the wealthiest Native American tribe in the US. It owns and operates Foxwoods Resort Casino, one of the largest casinos in the world and, many believe, the most profitable. The complex offers more than 7,000 slot machines and some 400 gaming tables in six casinos, four hotels (Grand Pequot Tower, Great Cedar Hotel, Two Trees Inn, and MGM Grand at Foxwoods), about 30 restaurants, live entertainment, and a string of retail shops. Foxwoods opened the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in 2008. The project, which cost some $700 million, is Connecticut's third largest casino.
