M. Hidary & Co. Company Description
M. Hidary knows that clothes make the man...or boy...or girl. The privately held firm makes clothing for men and children under numerous brand names, including Bon Bebe, Russell, Everlast, and Amy Byer. In early 2006 it partnered with Jacques Moret to design and sell men's activewear under license with Everlast Worldwide. It sells to Wal-Mart, Sports Authority, Sears, and catalogs such as Title Boxing. The company, founded in 1948 by Max and Moe Hidary, operates under The Hidary Group, an investor group that has holdings in consumer products, real estate, technology, and financial services. In early 2007 the company struck a deal to acquire Everlast, one of its largest licenses, but the deal fizzled later in the year.
