LP Displays Company Description

LP Displays is squeezing everything out of the tube. The company is the world's largest supplier of cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) used in televisions and computer monitors. While CRT products face growing competition from newer flat-panel display technologies (LCDs, organic light-emitting diodes, plasma), they still represent a large portion of the display market. LP Displays was formed in 2001 when Philips and LG Electronics merged their picture tube operations. (Another joint venture between the companies, LG Display, makes LCD products.) LP Displays is lining up new owners to replace LG and Philips.
