Los Angeles Clippers Company Description

Forget about tall ships, this team is interested in tall centers. The Los Angeles Clippers professional basketball team joined the National Basketball Association in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves before moving west in 1978. Known as the San Diego Clippers, the team relocated to Los Angeles in 1984 and now plays in the Staples Center with its division rival Los Angeles Lakers. Attendance for Clippers games has generally been eclipsed by the more popular team, due mostly to a string of unsuccessful seasons. Real estate magnate Donald Sterling has owned the franchise since 1981.
