Don't confuse Lloyds Banking Group with that other Lloyds. Unrelated to Lloyd's of London, Lloyds Banking Group was formed by the 2009 merger of UK banks Lloyds TSB and HBOS. Its retail banking services include deposit accounts, credit cards, loans, and wealth management. Lloyds Banking Group is also one of the nation's top home mortgage lenders. Other products include insurance and investment services through Scottish Widows, and wholesale and international banking for UK corporate clients and multinationals. Lloyds Banking Group, which operates under the brands Lloyds TSB, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland, has some 2,000 branches with representative offices in the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.
