Overview
LensCrafters brings eyewear and malls together. Part of the growing retail arm (Luxottica Retail) of Italy's Luxottica Group, LensCrafters is North America's largest retailer of eyewear and related services, with about 950 stores in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The company-owned stores, mainly located in shopping malls, offer prescription glasses, contact lenses, and sunglasses, as well as vision exams by an on-site optometrist. Outside North America, Luxottica operates about 165 LensCrafters stores in China and Hong Kong. LensCrafters was founded in 1983 and acquired by Luxottica in 1995.
