Lefrak Organization Company Description
Horace Greeley said, "Go west, young man!" and The Lefrak Organization listened -- at least, if you take the famous New Yorker comic strip's view that you're in the Midwest once you cross the Hudson. The Lefrak Organization is a real estate development company and one of the US's largest private landlords, managing hundreds of apartment buildings (affordable and upscale) in New York, New Jersey, and more recently California, as well as millions of square feet of commercial space. Lefrak's office and retail holdings include its flagship office tower at 40 West 57th Street in midtown Manhattan, home to such tenants as Bank of America, Nautica, and Wells Fargo. Still family-owned and run, Lefrak was founded in 1901.
