Klaussner Furniture Industries makes accoutrements for the couch potato in all of us. A leading US maker of upholstered furniture, Klaussner sells fabric- and leather-upholstered sofas and recliners, chairs, ottomans, occasional tables, home entertainment, and dining furniture under the Distinctions and Klaussner names. Its licensed brands include Sealy and Dick Idol ("rustic" furnishings), including Dick Idol's World Vineyard collection. Its more than 15 plants produce items exported to more than 60 countries. Klaussner also owns about 20% of furniture retailer Jennifer Convertibles. Chairman Hans Klaussner has owned the company since 1979; it was founded in 1964 as Stuart Furniture Industries.
