Overview

Keppel Corporation, which started out as a Singapore shipyard, has found smooth sailing as a diversified conglomerate. Founded in 1968, the company is still known for its shipbuilding and repair and now operates around 20 shipyards worldwide. In addition to Keppel Offshore & Marine, Keppel also has two other divisions: Keppel Land is one of the largest property developers in Singapore, and Keppel Infrastructure has environmental engineering, power generation, and logistics operations. The company has stakes in telecommunications provider MobileOne and a venture capital firm. It sold its 46% stake in Singapore Petroleum Company to PetroChina in 2009.
