Who would be one of the most dominant US apparel makers? Kellwood would. It generates most of its sales from women's wear, including its Koret and Sag Harbor lines. It also produces men's and children's clothes and accessories. Its other brands include Hollywould, Baby Phat, Phat Farm, Rewind, and XOXO. The company sells its products through department stores, mass retailers, specialty boutiques, and catalogs. Kellwood has gained a foothold in new niches and grown through acquisitions, including Vince, Briggs New York, Group B Clothing, Romance du Jour, Phat Fashions, and Royal Robbins. It was taken private in 2008 by Sun Capital Partners, which sold Kellwood's Gerber Childrenswear and Hanna Andersson units.
