K12 Company Description
K12 isn't a missing element from the periodic table, but it could help kids learn the periodic table. The "virtual public school" offers online educational programs for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Products include online public schools (in more than 15 states and overseas), course material and product sales directly to parents, and individualized supplemental programs offered through traditional public schools. Web courses cover core subjects such as English, math, science, history and art. K12 targets kids who underperform in public school or can't attend public school because of travel issues, disabilities, or because they are athletes or performers. CEO Ron Packard founded K12 in 2000.
