K&W Cafeterias takes you back to the salad days of Salisbury steak and strawberry shortcake. The family-owned company owns and operates more than 30 cafeteria-style restaurants offering trend-free cafeteria fare in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Most K&W locations serve lunch and dinner menus and offer take-out service in addition to dining room meals; a handful of the restaurants also serve breakfast. Company founder Grady Allred Sr. purchased the original K&W Restaurant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1940.
