Jordan Industries Company Description
Jordan Industries operates three business units: Beemak (point-of-purchase plastic displays), Sate-Lite (safety reflectors for bicycles and commercial vehicles), and Deflecto (assorted plastics products). Early in 2008 Jordan sold GramTel USA, which provides IT disaster recovery infrastructure, to Cincinnati Bell for $20 million. Two years earlier it sold its Kinetek division (electric motors and gears) to The Resolute Fund for about $442 million. The company has also exited three other businesses -- Valmark (promotional products), Welcome Home (gift items), and a catalytic converter remanufacturing business. Director David Zalaznick owns 20% of the company; chairman and CEO John W. Jordan II owns 18%.
