Jéronimo Martins Company Description

It's not a big leap to say Jerónimo Martins (JM) feeds a lot of people. The company sells food at about 1,350 stores in Portugal and Poland. In its home country the Portuguese retailer's banners include Feira Nova (hypermarkets), Pingo Doce (supermarkets), and Recheio (convenience stores). JM also operates the largest supermarket chain in Poland: the 1,000-store Biedronka discount chain. Its joint venture company formed in 2007 with Unileverproduces and distributes oils and margarine, personal care and home care products, and ice cream under the brand names Fima, Lever Elida, and Olá. Other operations include Hussel sweets and chocolates shops, third-party marketing and several joint-venture restaurant chains.
