Irvine Company Company Description
At The Irvine Company, everything goes according to plan-- the master plan! The real estate investment company plans and designs office, retail, and residential villages in San Diego, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and Orange County. Its portfolio includes 400 office buildings, 40 retail centers, and 90 apartment communities, as well as several hotels, marinas, and golf clubs, not to mention The Irvine Ranch, one of the largest planned communities in the US. The ranch has some 260,000 residents and covers 93,000 acres, a drop from its original 120,000 acres back in the mid-1800s, when James Irvine bought out the debts of Mexican land-grant holders. Chairman Donald Bren, an American billionaire, owns the company.
