Services include stringing of conductors, erecting pole lines, and providing emergency manpower and equipment. Stuart Irby Sr. founded the company in 1919 as Stuart C. Irby Company, a wholesale electrical supplier and contractor that erected power lines throughout the Southeast under the aegis of the Rural Electrification Administration during the 1930s. Irby Construction is now a unit of specialized contracting services provider Quanta Services.
