Intel China Company Description
The world's largest country (by population) is a highly important market for the world's largest chip maker (by sales). Intel employs more than 6,000 people in China, engaged in R&D, semiconductor assembly and testing, and marketing and sales. Since setting up shop in 1985, Intel (China) Ltd. has expanded to more than 15 cities on the mainland, including Shanghai, where the company has three campuses. Intel is building its first Asian wafer fabrication facility in Dalian, where it will make chipsets beginning in 2010. China accounts for 14% of Intel's sales, trailing only Taiwan and the US.
