Overview
ING Direct UK provides savings accounts, mortgages, and home insurance to UK residents via the Internet and telephone. A subsidiary of Amsterdam-based financial services giant ING Groep, the direct bank has no brick-and-mortar branches and passes its operational cost savings on to the customer by offering competitive interest rates on its ING Direct Savings Accounts. Account holders are not obligated to keep a minimum balance, and they needn't worry about service fees or penalties. In addition to the UK, ING Direct also has operations in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the US.
