Overview
ING Direct UK provides savings accounts to UK residents via the Internet and telephone. The direct bank has no brick-and-mortar branches and passes its operational cost savings on to the customer by offering competitive interest rates on its ING Direct Savings Accounts. Account holders are not obligated to keep a minimum balance, and they needn't worry about service fees or penalties. ING Direct UK is the newest of several online banks operated by Amsterdam-based financial services giant ING Groep. (Other countries of operation include Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the US.)
