Subsidiary Banco Inbursa provides retail and commercial banking services and products including deposit accounts, loans, leases, and currency exchange. Seguros Inbursa sells life, health, and property/casualty insurance. Financiero Inbursa provides brokerage and investment services. In 2008 Carlos Slim bought a 6% stake in The New York Times Company (making him the largest shareholder of the company); he plans to invest another $250 million. Mr. Slim controls 71% of Grupo Financiero Inbursa.
