Overview

Although it's seen much renovation, IBM's house is still made partly of hardware. Encompassing enterprise computing, data storage, and microelectronics products, IBM's Systems and Technology Group represents a diminishing percentage of the company's business, which is led by its Global Technology Services arm. The company is still a global leader in server and mainframe computing, offering systems running Linux-based products. Its Microelectronics unit makes microprocessors and memory devices. Other products include disk- and tape-based data storage systems. The Systems and Technology markets directly to end-users, but more than half of sales are made to business partners.
