Iberia Company Description
The planes in Spain fly mainly for Iberia, Lineas Aereas de España, the country's leading air carrier. Including regional service operated by a contractor, Iberia flies to more than 100 destinations in about 40 countries with a fleet of some 200 aircraft. Outside Spain, the carrier serves markets in Europe, Latin America, and Africa. It extends its network as a member of the Oneworld global marketing and code-sharing alliance, which is led by American Airlines and British Airways. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus offer passengers more destinations.) Iberia and British Airways have begun merger negotiations.
