Overview

If you're sick in the city or have a stomach ache in the suburbs, IASIS Healthcare provides a medical oasis. The company owns and operates 17 acute care hospitals and one behavioral health facility (some 3,200 beds total) in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, Texas, and Utah. IASIS also operates several outpatient facilities and other centers providing ancillary services, such as radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and ambulatory surgery. Its Health Choice subsidiary is a Medicaid and Medicare managed health plan that serves about 200,000 individuals in Arizona. An investor group led by Texas Pacific Group owns the lion's share of the company.
