Overview
HP Laboratories lives up to the Hewlett-Packard slogan: Invent. HP Labs serves as the central research organization for its parent, developing such diverse products as business software and digital cameras, in fields ranging from commercial printing to molecular computing. The unit, which counts thermal inkjet printing, the pocket scientific calculator, and the 64-bit architecture behind Intel's Itanium microprocessors among its successes, partners with both HP businesses and select customers. Outside the US, HP Labs operates sites in China, India, Israel, Russia, and the UK. The organization was founded in 1966. It employs about 600 researchers.
