Houston Rockets Company Description
Houston basketball fans really blast off for this team. The Houston Rockets joined the National Basketball Association in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets, a franchise first awarded to Bob Breitbard. After moving to Houston in 1971, the team reached the NBA Finals twice before finally winning back-to-back championship titles in 1994 and 1995. The Rockets roster has been graced with such Hall of Fame players as Clyde Drexler, Moses Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon. In 2003 the franchise took up residence at Houston's Toyota Center. Former Wall Street securities trader Leslie Alexander has owned the team since 1993.
