Overview
These sisters want their big family to benefit everyone in the community. Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a ministry of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, operates more than a dozen hospitals located throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. Its facilities range from large-scale acute care facilities such as St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Bellevue, Illinois (with about 430 beds) and St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin (about 550 beds) to small community hospitals. While the organization was incorporated in 1978, the health care ministry of the Hospital Sisters in the US goes back to 1875.
