Overview
Hafslund generates, distributes, and sells electricity in Norway. Its utility operates regulated power distribution assets in south-central Norway (540,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers). Hafslund generates power at nine hydroelectric facilities along the southern Glomma waterway (between Øyeren and Fredrikstad, in southeastern Norway), and markets electricity to 638,000 retail customers throughout Norway. The company is also the owner of Norway's largest district heating system, serving some 3,400 customers in the Oslo region. In 2010 Hafslund agreed to buy 49% of power sales companies Energibolaget i Sverige Holding AB, and Gota Energi.
