Habasit America Company Description
Mixing some of this with some of that pretty well sums up how Habasit America (formerly Summa Industries) has molded its plastics business. Its operating units make plastic components for the electronics, lighting, and materials-handling industries, among others. Habasit's units include LexaLite (optical lenses and HID fixtures), Plastic Specialties, Inc. (plastic lenses for fluorescent fixtures), Genesta Manufacturing (extruded and formed plastic lenses), KVP Holdings (parts for conveyor belts used in food processing), and Aquarius Brands (plastic fittings and valves for irrigation systems). In 2006 Habasit Holding bought Summa for some $60 million; it announced that Summa would operate under the Habasit America name.
