Overview
Griffin Land & Nurseries aims to reshape the suburban landscape. Through subsidiary Imperial Nurseries, it grows and distributes container-based plants, mostly broadleaf evergreens such as rhododendrons, to garden center operators and the garden departments of retail chain stores. Griffin also has real estate operations, including land holdings in Connecticut and Massachusetts for industrial, commercial, and residential development. Griffin owns small percentages of a nursery distributor and a business magazine publisher. The Cullman and Ernst families together own more than 50% of Griffin.
